You can also contract it when coming into contact with genital fluids, and if left untreated, you can become infertile or suffer from reactive arthritis. Syphilis
Syphilis is another common STD which is also caused by bacteria, and it will often affect the genital area, lips, mouth, and anus of men and women. It can cause pain and discomfort when you have the condition, and sores can develop in various parts of your body. The symptom can oft4en disappear and then come back if left untreated, so you will want to see your doctor and get tested if you think you may have it. Your doctor can prescribe you antibiotics that can clear the condition quickly, and you will need to ensure you practice safe sex after contracting an STD.
Trichomoniasis
Trichomoniasis is another STD that you can catch when having unprotected sex, and a parasite rather than an infection causes this. However, there is no cure for Genital Herpes, but using medication prescribed by your doctor can help relieve the symptoms and control it.
These are only a few STDs that you can catch when having unprotected sex, and there are more of them and sexually transmitted infections you can contract. Always practice safe sex, especially with a new partner, and if you think you may have caught something, visit your doctor immediately to get tested.
